Nonlinear Feedback Stabilization of a Rotating Body-Beam Without Damping
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper deals with nonlinear feedback stabilization problem of a exible beam clamped at a rigid body and free at the other end. We assume that there is no damping. The feedback law proposed here consists of a nonlinear control torque applied to the rigid body and either a nonlinear boundary control moment or a nonlinear boundary control force or both of them applied to the free end of the beam. This nonlinear feedback, which insures the exponential decay of the beam vibrations, extends the linear case studied by Laousy et al. to a more general class of controls. This new class of controls is in particular of the interest to be robust. Key-words: Rotating body-beam, Nonlinear control, Exponential stability. Stabilization of a Rotating Body Beam without Damping - Automatic Control, IEEE Transactions on
This paper deals with the stabilization of a rotating body-beam system with torque control. The system we consider is the one studied by Baillieul and Levi in [1]. In [12] it has been proved by Xu and Baillieul that, for any constant angular velocity smaller than a critical one, this system can be stabilized by means of a feedback torque control law if there is damping. We prove that this resul...
متن کاملResistive Wall Mode Stabilization in Slowly Rotating High Beta Plasmas
DIII-D experiments show that the resistive wall mode (RWM) can remain stable in high β scenarios despite a low net torque from nearly balanced neutral beam injection (NBI) heating. The minimization of magnetic field asymmetries is essential for operation at the resulting low plasma rotation of less than 20 krad/s (measured with charge exchange recombination spectroscopy using C VI emission) cor...
متن کاملDynamic Boundary Controls of a Rotating Body-beam System with Time-varying Angular Velocity
This paper deals with feedback stabilization of a flexible beam clamped at a rigid body and free at the other end. We assume that there is no damping and the rigid body rotates with a nonconstant angular velocity. To stabilize this system, we propose a feedback law which consists of a control torque applied on the rigid body and either a dynamic boundary control moment or a dynamic boundary con...
متن کاملInertial Manifolds and Stabilization of Nonlinear Beam Equations with Balakrishnan-taylor Damping
In this paper we study a hinged, extensible, and elastic nonlinear beam equation with structural damping and Balakrishnan-Taylor damping with the full exponent 2(n + β) + 1. This strongly nonlinear equation, initially proposed by Balakrishnan and Taylor in 1989, is a very general and useful model for large aerospace structures. In this work, the existence of global solutions and the existence o...

This paper aims to develop a boundary control solution for a single-link gantry robot manipulator with one axis of rotation. The control procedure is considered with link’s transverse vibrations while system undergoes rigid body nonlinear large rotation and translation. Initially, based on Hamilton principle, governing equations of hybrid motions as a set of partial differential equations...
